I received my SCGL-06 last week. The construction is all aluminum and it seems rugged. The battery cover is on the front under the laser. I installed it on my Kel-Tec Sub 2000.
The laser is very bright. It's visible in bright daylight depending on the background and the distance. It's very bright at night. I could see it on a telephone pole 100 yds away. The dot does get somewhat large after 20 yards but I have to remind myself of the price.
It has right and left side switches. The first push is "on" and stays on. The second push is a rapid strobe which came in handy when I was aligning the laser with a bore sight. It also comes with a remote pressure switch (very short cable). The pressure switch is a momentary, meaning when you press, it comes on, and when you release it goes off. I like that feature.
Overall it seems like good value. I still have to go to the range to see if it holds zero.
